It's a bit rough, as I just wrote it today, but I thought I'd give those interested a taste of cat politics from my WIP Melanie Learns.  Both characters are familiar cats.  I hope you enjoy!

Melanie's story is now at 34,038.  Yippie!

Great Quote from today's work:

"Crowded wizards pushed Melanie and Mathew closer together as the whole mingle contracted to fit through the doors into the hall.  The voices echoed off the honey oak paneling, making my ears twitch."

Melanie Learns is now at 32,014.  I made the 1000 word goal yesterday, reaching for it again today.

Well, taking a  break and working on something else was good for me.  Melanie Learns is now at 27,597. Yippie!

And I'm hiding in the house where the air conditioning works just fine.  Yup, I've lived in the Puget Sound too long, I don't like heat any more.  I'll make myself go out later, after I get some writing done.  The work must come first, y'know. (giggle ( Read more... )

I'd love to write more per day, but I seem to keep to the 300-600 words per day turtle speed.  At least I *will* eventually get there, just not not as fast as others.  Anyone who thinks this is easy should try it themselves and find out. :P

As some of you may have heard, I went with my honeybun raishaan , to Victoria B.C. to visit friends over the weekend.  I brought my laptop which decided that it was a perfect time to die. (headdesk) So I have not written a word all weekend.  (grumble-grumble) So much for my word goals.

Melanie's story is now at 18,146. Yes I am quite satisfied.

Melanie had to break it to a client with a crush on the boss' daughter that magic doesn't work that way.  She could attract a faithful, loving companion for him, but she couldn't make that person be  the woman he wants.
